Decide My Fate As A DJ!
Edit: it would be greatly appreciated if you have time to kill, that you kill it by telling me why you voted how you did.
Not a life or death thing, but something pretty significant. I’d like the people to have spoken, and so I will encourage the people speaking, but just this once. Then the rest of you have to shut up and listen again. ‘Cause I’m funny, dammit.
So just go ahead and respond to that guy. I’ve allowed other answers so if you think I really ought to be playing Hands Up, go ahead and tell me so I can disregard that. Now for most of you, these genres are a sort of alien concept, and you trying to wrap your head around which one is the correct answer would be like you’re first time with a girl, fumbling with her bra until she laughs at you and goes home. But enough about my personal life, on to the explanations.
Drum and Bass – D’n'B, is of course, my first love as a genre of music. It was really good music for my dark and brooding teenagerish year. But for the most part, I’ve gotten really into techstep and I do enjoy the fast paced intensity of it. It makes for very good “body” music and there’s nothing more fun than seeing a crowd get hyped when the first bassline of ‘Levitate‘ kicks in. It’s probably the closest to that “Neo-Rave” stuff I have such a passion for.
Breaks – Breaks is the most commercially appealing genre I have here, I mean it’s bassically hip-hop, but faster. Which, ironically, is why I like it. The music is stupid party music, but that makes it tons of fun and its at just the right BPM that everyone can groove to it for a while. I guess it’s technically ‘club’ and ‘rave’ viable, but I doubt I’ll ever get hired so here we are.
Techno – Techno is actually not what you think it is, kids from my high school who are coming here from the facebook link. It is not cascada or basshunter. Techno is the long prevailing trend of such detroit luminaries as Derrick May and Juan Atkins. I love the cold unfeeling sounds made from techno, and I love its futurist philosophies. It’s greatest appeal comes from it doing double duty of being relevant in my brain and in my muscular system.
So there you have it kiddies. Pick one and I’ll greatly consider the sites input.
